Three weeks is not enough time. The speakers will smooth out considerably. I was ready to give up on my 816's after about a month and a half. At around the two month mark, they transformed. All of the sudden, they were smooth, sweet and coherent as hell. Give them more time and I think they will lose those "bad aspects".
