Wharfedale Diamond 8.4 at $300pair best bang for buck?

I am looking for the best value under $1000. Considering Meadowlark Swifts. I could not find any reviews of the 8.4 but the bookshelves seem to get raves for value. The new 9.6 got a good review from Absolute sound for $1000 a pair.
