I've had one for more than two months now. For its price, it's
one heck of a player. I have some complaints w.r.t. soundstaging
and bass-tightness, but that's compared to a player 3 times its
price.
If I had to choose between the 963 and the other players you list,
I'd go for the 963.DVD: the faroudja chip is ONLY used in the component out signal,
if you use that, you're ok. If you use scart, you don't use
the faroudja. Also, a cheaper DAC is used. But on the other hand,
the scart quality is good as well.
