Sometime in 2004, a plan was hatched to co-ordinate a re-release of Steve McQueen with a new album produced by Thomas Dolby (who was alalso going to remaster SM for the new release.) Paddy got working on some new material, and recorded some acoustic versions of Steve McQueen (intended for disc 2 of the set.) Unfortunatley, disaster struck - during the process Paddy started suffering from meniere's disease and lost hearing in one of his ears, meaning that all musical projects had to be abandoned. However, the remastered Steve McQueen is still floating around somewhere in Sony's vaults, and is listed on amazon.co.uk (but with no release date.) 'Record Collector' magazine listed a release date in February 2007, leaving fans cautiously optimistic.

Ménière's disease is a disorder of the inner ear that can affect hearing and balance. It is characterized by episodes of dizziness and tinnitus and progressive hearing loss, usually in one ear. It is caused by an increase in volume and pressure of the endolymph of the inner ear. It is named after the French physician Prosper Ménière, who first reported that vertigo was caused by inner ear disorders in an article published in 1861.-Wikipedia
