Seek out the original vinyl pressings for several reasons:
1) Hear what was originally recorded, mixed and mastered at the time the record was released.
2) Hear better, more 'real' sound. Vinyl is like listening to a waterfall, CDs are like listening to a waterfall...of ice cubes.
3) Get the graphics and ultra-cool inserts that only come with LP vinyl. Play with the band's second album cover and you'll see what I mean!
4) Bond with your child seeking out original pressings...it's fun!
5) INVEST in your music. CDs will be worth less the minute you buy it. Vinyl will generally increase in value, especially original pressings and audiophile reissues.
6) Records are just cooler!
7) Enjoy playing your music. Nothing like lowering a tonearm on a record. Sticking in a CD is somehow lacking.
8) Support independent record shops. How much more fun is it to shop at with a local dealer compared to Amazon?!
9) The band (Led Zep) has made PLENTY of money selling records. No need to make them richer buy purchasing reissues. Get the originals!
10) Teach your child to care for a rare, valuable item like a record.10 reasons off the top of my thick head!
