I have only managed to play this through once so far but am already enormously impressed.
Any number of these songs would make a perfect album closer. Several of them rise to very potent climaxes whilst the actual disc creeps, whispers and slips away into a slow decay and a sustained barely perceptible note that seems to hang on for... and read this carefully... 15 minutes.
This is one hell of a heartbroken record, and late listening should be preceded for anyone remotely unhappy by locking the liquor cabinet and putting away the sharp knives.
Its intensely personal and quite quite lovely.
Anyone who liked Damien's previous work is strongly encouraged to hear this.
