After a deal of searching I have found where the site "lair of the red pony" has been archived.
In bewildering detail this contains details of the death of David McComb once of The Triffids.
It is quite disturbing and a very cautionary tale.
It brings up the possibility of at the least an assisted suicide.
Here is one of the drawings from the site done by a person perhaps involved apparently drawn in the aftermath of his death.

And here, for those who loved David and The Triffids and are of a certain disposition, is the address where you can access the archive. The first time I found it, I spent nearly an entire weekend chasing down the various links and reading endless reports.
I apologise to anyone who knew David and finds this morbid, I know it is.
