Sufjan Stevens, first time I have seen this guy. Whole band (a big bunch of folks) dressed in brown pajamas and wearing butterfly wings. I listened to two songs which, in hind sight was 2 too many. No talent that appeals to me there at all.
Calexico, lean without the Mariachi band with them but way tighter than the last time I saw them. Iron and Wine came out and joined them along with a fellow named Salvadore Duran who uses his mouth as a percussion instrument and his feet as well, stands on top of a electric box and makes tones with his feet. Truly unique and mesmerizing. Watch for repeat showing on PBS.
In December Calexico and Los Lobos are at the Filmore....
Great twosome to see.
