the newly renovated Jubilee Auditorium lived up to its hype and reputation as perhaps the best sounding concert hall in Calgary? It is so transparent and warm sounding that you can discerned and readily hear the electronic haze that Bruce Cockburn’s roadies and his sound technician’s used to amplify his music. Oh! and Bruce was excellent too he came in with only two back-up musicians. One was the percussionist/drummer and the other one (a woman) was the keyboard player as well as his back-up vocal. However, during the high crescendos of the song such as “Tokyo†you would swore that he had a 30-piece orchestra backing him up it was that powerful.BTW, this was the first concert that I have attended that I did not end up with a worst case of listening fatigue and tinititis afterwards. Definitely, this is an excellent venue and I could honestly say that I could see myself attending many, many concerts here in the future.
