Clapton's collaborated with near everyone, mostly with marginal results, and hasn't made a good record since W. was tanking his first buisness. Cale's smoothed over his sound and style so there's a damn gloss eminating from his tunes. if it was light it would blind you.,Overall though, I'd rather listen to his Cale's past three recordings than Clapton's past 15.I think Clapton always admired Cale than the other way around. Either way I hope it doesn't and up as yet another MOR, overproduced, glossy snoozefest staple.
I'm not sure if I'm prone to cynicism or if these (amongst other) former favorites of mine have driven me to it with (IMO) consistently poor musical choices...
