Before we sign off this month we want to acknowledge some sad news we received last week. It appears that "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow is ill with Alzheimer's disease. All of us here have been touched by this debilitating disease with a loved one and the road is rough with no end in sight. A cure seems like some distant dream at this point, while the reality is sometimes unbearable. Our thoughts turn to his family and loved ones of which there are many.
His skills with a pedal steel are the stuff of legend and have provided many a backing track to some of our favorite music. We can only wonder what Gram Parsons would have sounded like without him. He's not up to personal contact or emails but his daughter tells us that he sometimes is well enough to read some written correspondence.
