Well, not really, if you count the Japanese-only "Naked" album from a few years back, but it's the first one distributed in the U.S. since 1994's "Pure and Simple.". The new release is called "Sinner," and it's a powerhouse, an eye-opening return to the hard, stripped-down, melodic rock of Joan's glory days. The hooks are overflowing, and the band is tight and energetic. So far, I'd have to put it up there as one of the best pure rock releases of 2006, alongside the New York Dolls' new album. Definitely a winner. Good to see one of the leading ladies in rock history back in fighting form!!!
