From Classic Rock to Progessive to hip hop to today's hot new tunes!

...for anyone looking for some new music to listen to. I picked up the latest from Calexico called "Garden Ruin" and one from a guy named James Hunter called "People Gonna Talk".
While I have two of Calexico's previous releases, this latest is their most cohesive collection of songs. The lyrics, mostly by the two founding memebers, John Convertino and Joey Burns, are some of the most interesting I've read in a long time and the musicianship is top notch. "Deep Down" is one of the coolest songs I've heard in quite some time. I ordered the vinyl version as well!
James Hunter is a guy from the UK that has been around for awhile. His first major label release here "People Gonna Talk" is a musical throwback of sorts. He writes, sings and plays (and illustrates the liner notes as well)in a early Motown R & B way. Most of the songs have a Sam Cooke meets Robert Cray meets Wilson Pickett.
Check these two newer releases out, I think you'll enjoy them.
