No, none. Nothing. I don't look down upon the collector mentality, it doesn't bother me, but I will say I don't understand it.I like music. I like to listen to the stuff. Yesterday & Today doesn't sound any different on the vinyl record I bought in the 70s, at least not to me.
Looking at it from a value/investment standpoint, that's a little different. Easier to understand, certainly, even if I prefer the idea of music as music & not something that should benefit dealers past the point of benefiting artists.
But seeking something merely because it's collectible is absolutely beyond me. Nice, cute, rare, great...whatever. I do enjoy the Rhino Handmade issues, that's for sure. But I don't like them any more because they only run 5,000 of them.
Sorry. I just rate the listening experience higher than the collecting experience, personally; and I don't like thread crapping, but maybe this will be the thread where someone can give an explanation that doesn't leave me still scratching my head about the whole thing.
