80s were great for me. Vinyl LPs were still the thing, at least at the beginning of the decade, and only started to disappear toward the end. New LPs were 4 dollars. I had the money to buy a ton of music. Joy Division had turned into New Order, there was the Smiths, the Cure, Depeche Mode, Replacements, Husker Du, Minutemen, X, Oingo Boingo, and a new kind of music from Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane, EPMD- and these lists could go on and on. I even liked U2 back then.
