Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Re: CATraxx 2000 is great.

Just found CATraxx on TUCOWS, the Windows shareware/freeware software websites. Installed it and took a look. I loaded in Simon Rattle doing three of Hayden's symphonies--can't recall exactly which but the first was the 22nd (Rattle has two such discs) and watched it check the internet for cd information. It missed Rattle as the conductor, it missed the name of the orchestra, got Hayden as the artist, got the track names and times. But it looked to me as if it had no special format for classical discs.

As I looked around, it appeared I could add fields. That's fine. But I could find no way to make certain the CD info tracked off the internet would fit in the new fields. So I concluded the program needed a genre mode to switch between layouts, one that was compatible with the way the data comes in from whatever internet location it grabs it.

So I uninstalled it and am looking for something else. Did I miss something? Admittedly, this was a quick and dirty look.
