Just saw Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets and I'm making the assumption that John Williams again did the score. While I really like most of Williams work, it seems to be quite repetetive as of late.Case in point during the "athletic event" chase scene in Chamber of Secrets (I'm not a Harry Potter fan so I don't know what the broomstick event is called). Anyway the music during this scene is nearly STRAIGHT out of the Star Wars EP II Coruscant chace scene.
So my question is can a composer "compose" too much? Or is this considered acceptable - it is his work after all. Personally I was quite turned off by this as I kept focusing on why SW EP II music was in a Harry Potter flick.
Just soliciting opinions....
