Yep, two properly implemented channels is all that you need for Video. (Unless you like piano plying behind you or oboe sitting under your sofa). I do not know anything about the DVD player (In “mine time†I used 7700 for video and heavily modified 7700’s16-bit digital out for audio into external DAC) but I might say that in order to get the best results you have to have the different speakers positioning for audio and videos. (If you plan to use the same system and assumingly if your plasma screen’s position will not compromise anything) . There is a very interesting lead for you to experiment/think if you want. You might find useful to introduce a time delay channel on back as it was very shortly popular in the beginning of 70s. If it done properly and if you nave a very “smart†time delay processor (with phase randomanization) then you could get very interesting result for you video.Good luck
