Right on 100%!I've got much Newton myself. The latest one I got is the Echo Canyon,
his solo record taped in some super sound-conducive canyon near Santa Fe. The title may sound a little new-agey, but the record is great music, D. You can hear the night bugs and the sound travels.In the 80s I'd also add Henry Threadgill[who I saw tonight!], Sam Rivers and still James Spaulding!
