It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Re: Have you compared it with the vinyl?

I would like to say that I am not excited about Hi-Rez, as in I think its superior to Record. I have had a record player for a long time now, probably since my first system, but I have also had a cd player practicly since the begining. Im 21 years of age, I have been passionate about music for as long as I can remember, my dad did that to me, but I went through the cd phase for a while. I bought cd's, bought into Digital forever crap, and just kind of went with it. I looked at the record player as a means to listen to all the old music my father and grandparents have, not as a higher resolution system.

Then my grandfather, a diehard Audiophile and Vinyl lover, gave me his old equipment. That was my first good system, I still have his record player in my system, a Thorens. So I began listening to records as a way to get better sound, of course this was because I heard better sound. Over time I learned how to clean records, bought new ones, and upgraded the turntable and rest of the system. I also listened to lots of higher rez systems.

The fact still remains that, as with Vinyl, there is lots of material not available on Vinyl. So I have been buying up cd's and been disatisfied with the sound. I heard SACD first on an SCD-1 and was blown away, it was way better than cd. Next I heard DVD-A on that technics player, and I was not blown away, since then however I have heard DVD-A sound equally as good as SCD has, so i guess Im at the toss up point with it.

Now as for the record of this album, shows how much research I did, I didnt know it was available on Vinyl. I have never seen it in any stores and never noticed it online, I also didnt go looking for it however. I will pick up the record and compare, though Im sure I will prefer the record of the DVD-A. But in comparison with the cd, the DVD-A is light years ahead.
