Re: Glenn Gould playing Bach

I disagree, I'm afraid, with Glenn Gould. Yes, his Goldberg Variations are interesting, but very idiosyncratic. He was more of a showman than a great interpreter. I actually like Keith Jarrett's Bach to Gould's!

For piano versions, I feel the best are:
Rosalyn Turek (VAI Audio, 1988)
Angela Hewitt (Hyperion, 2000)
Murray Perahia (Sony, 2000)

For harpsichord versions:
Christophe Rousset (L'Oiseau-Lyre, 1995)
Pierre Hantaï (Opus 111, 1993)
Trevor Pinnock (Archiv, 1980)

Preferences are all rather subjective, so I hope my disagreement is not take as being "disagreeable!"
