Your first listen to Joni Mitchell is one of the last recordings that this absolutely terrific artist will ever make, and you are weighing whether or not she has EVER been able to sing, whether you are interested in her music, etc. Very interesting. To answer the questions, asked and unasked. She could sing, and rock, and write. One of the best. Her genre may not find an audience with those who have become accustomed to modern pop, but especially for women, I think her music is timeless. If you can find the LPs, go that route. Her LPs were way better than many of the CD remasters. The CDs were fine, the LPs were just great.
