The new Legacys are the clearest versions yet. Previous CD versions and even '70s-vintage vinyl always sounded rather murky, which did add mystery to this heavily-edited studio jam.Don't get me started on the bizarre history of "Kind of Blue" vinyl releases (not to mention the original CD...) The latest Legacy CD of "Kind of Blue" sounds much better to me than the previous releases, CD or LP.
skramer, so far, I don't do SACDs. But I'm encouraged by the gathering buzz about the format, including yours. I'm not encouraged by the higher prices and the lack of titles, but that "might could oughta" (an expression common in West Texas) change.
