I saw Mr. Benson several times at the Jazz workshop in Boston in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was a mainstream jazz guitar player then and I really enjoyed his music and heard him every time he was in Boston. There are some records from this period that you can find; but you will have to search. Once he started recording for Creed Taylor I wished him well because he was going to be making much more money and playing in larger establishments that the Jazz Workshop.
