Aside from the fact that the Dorati performances are available only as 2-channel incarnations (on vinyl or CD), I wonder if ANY subsequent performances were really any better. I mean, the Mercury years were the era of Dorati in his prime, and those 35 mm recordings were (IMHO) the apex of Mercury's recording technology!
