Typical purple prose which doesn't tell you much - from that master of purple prose, Gary Lemco. His main beef with the performance seems to be that it wasn't recorded before a live audience.
I'm certainly going to download it too even though I often feel that Hamelin is not as good in standard repertoire works as he is in out-of-the-way repertoire (Alkan, Kapustin, et al). One very hopeful sign for me with this recording is that the conductor is Vladimir Jurowski, one of the real bright lights of his generation IMHO.
