in his book "Am I Too Loud" the great (arguable greatest)
accompanist, Gerald Moore, devoted a whole chapter to Solomon,
with whom he developed a close and long relationship and friendship.Moore quotes from a review: "It would be impossible to wish
...for a more majestic and Jove-like exposition of the Olympian D minor
concerto of Brahms. Mr. Solomon presents it in a huge span which
he effortlessly fills...Interpretation as demonstrated at this level
is seen as fundamentally the same art as composition-the art of creating
music."Moore's admiration for Solomon's art was a very strong influence on
his own musicianship, and was very much evident in his own playing.
