I think I've got a reputation as the Mad Spender - you'd really be proud of me Rob. I haven't bought any useless classical cds in a couple weeks now except for Serkins Beethoven which I thought I'd better not mention:-). I was really interested in the recent threads on old vs. new conductors. I was wondering about that question myself. Every time I hear those old monos of Beecham, Fertie and Mendelberg, I come away felling like I've just been fed a gigantic feast - I'm full. There must be something to them.
