You're only as old as you feel, John. Everything that we do, all our activities, the clothes we wear, the company we keep, and certainly for us here at Music Lane because music is important to us... the music that we listen to - all have a cumulative effect on the way that we feel about ourselves. I have a hunch what may be at the root of your increasingly obsessive concerns about aging, and I think I may be able to offer a helpful suggestion but, and this is a big but... as with any other "intervention", it will only be helpful if taken in the right spirit, and of course it's necessary for the suffering one to see the need for a change in his life. I'm no psychologist, but I know that a regular dose of Kurt Elling adds a lot of zip to this listener's personality. The gymnastically athletic, aggressive, life affirming, zestful, creative sound of Kurt's vital voice and his mercurial wit and spontaneity are irresistably life affirming and could be just the tonic for feelings of antiquity! Life is a feast - dig in!! Join the living! Make a committment to yourself to start to listen only to artists who are still alive, and who sound like it! It may be difficult at first, but knowing that you're doing the right thing and headed towards a happier existance will give you the strength and courage to see it through.
