Ms. Neville is a wonderful lady but her R&B set is a departure from what we normally present: modern jazz. See our listing on the "Schedule" page at www.snugjazz.com.
In April, we will feature Donald Harrison, Germaine Bazzle, Marcus Roberts, Ellis Marsalis, Astral Project, Nicholas Payton, Hermento Pasqual, and Carlos Malta. Charmaine will be playing on Mondays as usual.
N.O. is a great town for live music. It's played on the streets, in backyards, at hotels, in graveyards. Clubs with live modern jazz include Snug Harbor, Storyville District, Funky Butt, and Donna's. Check out www.offbeat.com, it's the web site for the local monthly music magazine. They have lots of club listings along with addresses, phone numbers, etc.
Stop by again when you're in town.
