...it is hard to make a comparison...that happened quite some time ago, but you can bet your socks that it was good since it made such a powerful impression on me...the orchestra was molded the way Celi wanted...i could feel the perfomance as being very romantic...it felt that the notes were played the way Bruckner would have asked for....one thing though...the orchestra didn't have the spark that i heard in NYP playing Mahler 2nd...on the other hand, we're trying to compare Bruckner 5th with Mahler 2nd...two different messages in these two wonderful masterpieces...
