No need to lurk - the water's fine. As for the inmates, we vary from day to day :-)I assume you've heard/got the Faure Requiem. That's more my wife's taste in music and the performance we have is by the montreal Symphony conducted by Dutoit withTe Kanawa and Milnes. It also has the Pelleas et Melisande suite and the Pavane by Faure on it. I can't vouch for the quality of the performance in relation to the competition, but it is an enjoyable disc.
The only Barber I have is the String Quartet (the famous Adagio first appeared as one of the movements of this Quartet, only to be rearranged later by Barber in a version for string orchestra and as his Agnes Dei) performed very nicely by the Emerson Quartet on a disc with the Ives Quartets and Ives' scherzo "Holding Your Own". I'm quite happy with the performances of all the works on the disc.
I guess that's the best I can do for suggestions in that reportoire.
