Gergiev is released on Philips and excellently recorded.Shostakovich:
String Quartets - Borodin Quartet and if you can find them: Beethoven Quartet; I only have them play with Shos the piano quintet.
Piano trio 2 - Argerich, Maisky, Kremer, but Shos/Sadlo/Oistrakh is much better, but not longer available. (Russian Revelation label)
24 Preludes and Fugues - Nikolaeva
Cello concerto 2: BSO/Ozawa/Rostropovich
Symphony 4: Moscow/Kondrashin or CBSO/Rattle
Symphony 5: LPO/Mravinsky or Deutsches Sinfonie-orkester/Sanderling (DDR vinyl)
Symphony 7: LPO/Mravinsky
Symphony 8: LPO/Mravinsky
Symphony 10: LPO/Mravinsky or Philadelphia/Jansons
Symphony 11: Moscow/Stokowski
Symphony 12: CO/Haitink
Symphony 15: LPO/MravinskyLater on you can always go for the other symphonies as well, but these are the most accessible ones.
I've also got some recordings of Shostakovich playing his own works for piano et al, but these recordings are very difficult to get, but Russian Revelation released a lot until they went bankrupt.
