Hi Rob,

Interesting you mention the Mengelberg 6th have never heard it, but his performance of the fifth with the Cbouw recorded Amsterdam 1928 is one of my favorite 5th's. The other 5th I love is the Mravinsky Stereo version on DG though I've heard his mono version from the 55 cycle is even better. Have you heard it?

As for Pathetique, you mentioned Furtwangler w/ the Berliners...I wonder if this is the 1938 performance I love so much? Other Pathetiques I love:
