Oh man!!!! The concert was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Mehta was a master with the NYP....the brass section was perfect!...the vocals of those ladies, especially Anna Larson....WOW!...after the orchestra played the last note, it was a hush over the whole Avery Fisher Hall...everybody was mute...for 3-4 seconds nobody reacted and then the whole concert hall started yelling "Bravo!"....i don't think anybody (including me) expected Mahler 2nd too sound soooo much better than we know...Now, I have another favorite...Mahler 2nd with NY Phil. and Mehta...I just hope they get a recording of this masterpiece...Mehta is made for this piece, and NYPhil knows their Mahler (remember my opinion about Das Lied von Der Erde?)...
