At only $75, it's pretty much a no-brainer for me. Even though I have many of the discs from the original reissue series from the early 90's, it would be great to have them all in a neat and compact box. The newly added material will be a nice bonus as well. I do wonder, however, what the remastering will be like. I've been pretty satisfied with the sound from the early-90's CDs, but RCA re-released several titles in newer remasterings in (I believe) the late 90's with inferior sound. While I haven't heard all of them, what I have heard of the newer remasterings sounded very 'enhanced' to my ears--added bass to give extra warmth, rolled-off highs to smooth out the previous harshness of the earlier discs, and some artificial reverb added to make the sound more palatable for 'modern' ears. While these CDs sounded good on the surface, I suspect that the rawer, grittier sound of original CDs from the early 90's are truer to the source. I guess we'll see what the new set brings!
