I have an MPS two-fer CD of Happy Girl and The Hip Walk that replaced my original SABA LPs (which I was sorry to see go, but needed the dough)
and both (and the CD transfer) are just SWEET! Truly great stuff!
I heartily agree with your assessment and Davis is one of those superb musicians that mostly remains below popular radar.
A shame, that - he deserves wider recognition.
