Genuinely thrilled by the DGG CD set of Bellini's "I Capuleti e i Montecchi" [Anna Netrebko & Elina Garanca] ,I did a search to see if it was out on video, BD preferred. Sadly no, only a Eurotrash DVD version [Patrizia Ciofi (soprano), Clara Polito (mezzo), Danilo Formaggia (tenor), Nicola Amodio (tenor), Federico Sacchi (bass), Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, The Bratislava Chamber Chorus, Luciano Acocella] with antagonists waving pistols at one another in place of swords - yuk. The singing on this version is praised but the reports I found say the staging and lighting are not good.
Maybe sometime soon?
