I can just hear Duke saying 'fall into that Harlem Air Shaft'. Second, I largely agree, except for ALS part III (much of the rest is portentious, pretentious and almost 'New Agey') and 'Freddy Freeloader', mostly for Coltrane's solo. Otherwise, I would take 'Blue Trane' if I had only one. And (I'm waiting to be stoned for saying this), Miles is overrated, IMO. Excellent, sure, especially on ballads. But more of a synthesizer than an innovator. For example, on modal jazz, see Mingus 'Pithicanthropus Erectus', two years before KOB. Happy listening!
