In a non-classical vein, search out recordings by the group Oregon, featuring Paul McCandless on oboe, Ralph Towner on classical guitar and piano, Glen Moore on bass and Collin Walcott on tabla, sitar, etc. A unique ensemble playing a form of jazz/classical furion that is captivating. With oboe always having a prominent place in the group.

I like their first 3 albums best, but they made many other good ones.
