I think the confusion lies in the distinction you've made. Systems like the Constellation don't involve amplification or direct manipulation of the music via spot microphones and such.
However, my original comment did take this a step further by hypothesizing a system that could acoustically shape spaces to mimic other spaces, like the Musikverein or Concertgebouw or Carnegie Hall.
Neither would involve amplification of musicians.
