Music Machine - "Talk Talk" - the title track and The People In Me hit the charts, and their cover of Hey Joe has remained a favorite. But pszt-fizzle, all their talk went into one record.Richie Havens - "Alarm Clock" - his Woodstock appearance drove Here Comes the Sun through the roof, and then everyone was ready for a nap.
Fever Tree - big hit with the psychadelic crowd, until they forgot
Mike Oldfield - "Tubular Bells" - tubular, man, and then down the tubes.
Richard Harris - "MacArthur Park" - I guess people decided that cake in the rain wasn't so tasty after all.
Lemon Pipers - "Green Tamborine" - which quickly turned into the Jungle Marmalade of death.
Iron Butterfly - "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" - baby. The birth of metal, with a seemingly endless number of stillbirths to follow.
For you real oldtimers ...
The Surfaris - "Wipe Out" - which they did immediately therafter.
The Singing Nun - "Dominque" - perhaps if she had followed up with Dominatrix.
And who could ever forget ...
The Hollywood Argyles - "Alley-Oop" - oop-oop-oop-poop
