There are many variants of its traditional meaning; your perspective appears an instance of a more or less traditional example. But over many years "Christmas" also has taken on familial, social and other meanings that have more or less to do with religion. Some even have to do with what some people call the "civic religion."
For you it is about the saving divinity of Christ. But that's not the only thing it is for everyone.
