Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

The best advice I can give you would be to ask the same question over in the vinyl asylum. It's a question that gets asked alot over there, so responses might be plentiful, or they might be few, depending on everyone's mood:-) I'm a pretty lousy example of an audiophile to be quite honest and my experience with different setups is limited to what I own personally (Project 1.2 and Grado Red cart). You can invest whatever you want - if price is no object, then the choices are many. If you just want to find out if vinyl is a viable alternative, then the Project ot the MMF-2 tables are a good entry point. The project comes with a mounted Sumiko cartridge that is quite playable (I don't know about the MMF-2) and can be had for about 300.00 new if you shop around. It would be helpful to you to find a local TT dealer that can help you set up the rig - I have a local vinyl nut for a dealer and his experience and helpfullness was beyond money in value.

Also, search the archives in the vinyl asylum for questions about entry-level setups.

Allan
