Seriously, trout bum, vinyl to many of us has restored the fun to this whole audiophile thing. FWIW, you can get into a reasonable TT and cart setup without having to sell your fly fishing gear to afford it. A good entry level TT like the Project 1.2 and a Grado Red cart will only set you back about 400 bucks, assuming your pre already has a phono stage. If you visit the Vinyl Asylum, you'll see that there's an unlimited high-end to it, but the enjoyment of vinyl can be had for a reasonable investment. And as Kurt said, the hunting for LPs at insanely cheap prices is a large part of the magic. If you're intersted in exploring classical music, there's an enormous amount of near-mint classical vinyl available at thrift stores. You can pickup up 15 LPs for the price of a single cd, so the TT actually pays for itself in more ways than just the greater enjoyment of the music. Go for it!Allan
