It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

Kidding from the posts below aside, I really do feel vinyl is a superior medium for several reasons. First of all, it's ANALOGUE and music (all sound in fact), is also analogue. It moves in waves, not 'off on off on' like digital. So, why shouldn't the means of reproduction (and recording too) be similar to the source - analogue. More importantly, records sound better to my ears and that's reason enough.

I like Neil Young's take on vinyl. He likened listening to records like being under a waterfall. Listening to seedees is like being under a waterfall...of icecubes.

There are other reasons too that are more esthetic than anything else. No seedee feels like a record in your hands. I like the format of records. I like the ritual of cleaning them before each play. It's like you're paying respect to the god of music. Poping a seedee in a tray is just too...cold.

Hunting the used record bins, gargage and yard sales, charity shops, antique stores and friend's attics is also part of my love of vinyl. I love the hunt.

Lastly, there are many sources for newly pressed vinyl of both new and previously recorded music. Classic Records, Analog Productions, DCC, Simply Vinyl, Absolute Analogue, to name a few. If you don't have a local record shop that stocks "audiophile" records, I recommend you contact a mail order specialist. My favorite is The Elusive Disc. Their number is 1-800-782-3472.

Have fun...
