just a little waxing nostalgic. ;-). Despite her talent, i wasn't a big fan of Alsop's programming, but it's happening with small city and regional orchestra all over the country. As government support for the arts has dried up (thanks, Ronnie and Jesse!), these orchestras have had to resort to most anything that will fill the seat. Damn shame.The Botannical Gardens concerts are special. Back here in the South, a summer outdoor concert turns into a feeding frenzy for the mosquitos. Coupled with the fact that all your clothing is plastered to your body from the humidity, and an evening in the listening room with the AC cranked is a way better option.
