i'm not complaining, really. it's just that half of the symphony season (seemingly) consists of pop concerts, and though i love the hall, Marin Alsop is (or seems to be) an avowed populist with a greater interest in Jazz than the sort of music for which a symphony orchestra purportedly exists to play. but you're right, the concerts at the Botannical Gardens are a delight, and they ARE doing the Brahms and some Sibelius in the next month or so, so i'll shut-up.patrick S
