Started with Eno, from a fellow a year my junior in '76 who turned me on to him, mentioning that Eno was friends with Fripp, who was friends with PG, - whom I loved from Genesis.....
Had another friend when I was 16 who just found it cool to buy the most obscure thing that no one knew about: he had to be first. I never understood that, and always let him know that I wanted what I believed to be quality. When he told me about Joy Division: i thought that they were another Van Der Graaf Generator.... (Lucky that I moved to Leeds for a time or I may've missed out on JD: not to mention, the Gang of Four)..
Another Green World was my first and still is my fav of his solo records: the rest flowed from there and can't imagine leaving a record store without at least one Eno CD in my bag... :-)
