I grant you that Klemperer was definetly inconsistant with his recordings, but some are absolutely THE best! Some of his Mendelssohn performances are awesome. Then there's his Brahms German Requiem and his 1965 mozart "Don Giavonni".........which I'm blessed to have on vinyl......original pressing........a gift from my father.

As far as Mravinsky is concerned..........who conducted Russian Music any better. I can't think of anyone of that generation to equal him.
Remember.......I mentioned to Brian that Mravinsky should be on the second tier of the greats......not the top five!
